What is Krace?
Krace is a rally co-driver for Android. It reads the road ahead of you and speaks the corners out loud as you drive, the way a co-driver reads pace notes on a rally stage.
What does a callout actually say?
A callout names the direction and the severity of the corner plus the distance to it, for example "Right 3, one hundred fifty, into Left 2". Severity runs on the rally 1 to 6 scale, where 1 is the tightest corner and 6 is the most open, alongside named calls such as hairpin and carousel.
I do not read pace notes. Is there a simpler scale?
Yes. You can swap the numbers for plain Easy, Medium and Hard labels. And if you learned the opposite rally convention, you can invert the 1 to 6 scale so that 6 is the tightest corner instead.
Does Krace work without a mobile connection?
The drive does. Prepare your route while you still have signal, and from then on Krace runs on GPS alone, so the callouts keep working on a mountain pass or a rural backroad where the bars disappear. You need a connection to plan or import a route in the first place.
Do I have to plan a route before I drive?
No. Free Roam predicts the road ahead and calls it out automatically, so you can just start driving. If you do want a prepared route, you can build one on the map inside Krace or import one.
Can I import routes I already have?
Yes. Krace imports GPX files and Google Maps links, then prepares the callout sequence for that route.
How do I hear the callouts in the car?
Callouts are spoken through whatever audio your phone is already connected to, such as car Bluetooth, Android Auto or a headset.
Why do the callouts arrive at different moments?
Because your speed changes. Krace retimes the road ahead continuously, so a callout is tied to the corner rather than to a fixed countdown. Approach a corner faster and the call comes earlier.
Is Krace available for iPhone?
Krace is an Android app and is distributed through Google Play. There is no iOS version.
What does it cost to try?

Does Krace replace paying attention to the road?
No. Krace is an assistance and entertainment aid. Callouts can be wrong, late or missing. You are always responsible for reading the actual road, obeying traffic law and driving to the conditions in front of you.
